About Us

Staff and students at the University of Bath established the society in 2000.  Since then they have run the society with the help received from ICIA.

Throughout the year, the society organises dance workshops, various social activities and events with the involvement of other art societies and local artists.

Charareh Pourzand (left) teaches in the regular workshops a variety of traditional, folk and classical dances from Iran, Turkey and Egypt, as well as creating and teaching her own choreographies.

The dancers, mostly students from Bath and Bristol Universities, learn these choreographies in the regular weekly workshops and perform in the society's events, Bath Fringe Festival and Bristol Dance Festival.

All the proceeds of the events and activities are donated to Medecins sans Frontieres.
